Secondary Education in two years
Within our broad offer of school types and the concept of transmissibility, the vocational school provides exceptional choices. Youths to whom the desired School attainment, be it the secondary school or Abitur [German university entry level] seems impossible to reach, can re-boot and start anew. The vocational school for home economics and nutrition leads to a secondary school attainment in two years and opens doors to further educational possibilities.
Admission requirements for the vocational school include a school leaving certificate or a transcript of records from the “Realschule” [German secondary school] or the ‘Gymnasium’ [German high school] of grades 8, 9, or 10.
The vocational school combines the traditional main subjects with new profile subjects. In the main subjects German, English and Mathematics, the subject matters are reviewed and gaps are filled.
Vocational School for Home Economics and Nutrition
The profile subjects for home economics and nutrition are professional academic competence (nutrition and economics) and professional practical competence (food preparation and textile work. This is where students can apply their skills and interests in a practice-oriented education. Project work plays a main part. Additionally, natural sciences and extra remedial teaching in the compulsory lessons is included in the curriculum.
It is especially important to us, that our graduates find a good start into professional life. Therefore, career orientation is of a high priority for us. A two-week professional internship as well as our career-fair “JOBwärts!” are fixed parts of our curriculum. At the “JOBwärts!” fair, students can not only obtain information about diverse professions and trainings and qualifications, but can also make first contact with regional companies.

More than School!
Our broad offer of work groups opens possibilities for the youths to spend their free time in a productive way. Musically, an orchestra, a wind orchestra, a Jazz band and diverse choirs are waiting for musicians or singers. Various theatre and art clubs open stage and studios. Sports such as golf, archery, track and field athletics, basketball and many more offer fun and new challenges.
The individual path to reach the goal
After completing the vocational school for home economics and nutrition, there ist he possibility to continue at the „Wirtschaftsgymnasium“ [Highschool for economics] or the „Sozialwissenschaftlichen Gymnasium“ [Highschool for Social Studies] to obtain the higher education entrance qualification or to train to become an educator. And all that without changing schools.
Students who live too far from Königsfeld to travel from their home on a daily basis can find a second home and intensive study support in our boarding schools.
