„Playful learning“ is a central aspect of theatre work at the Zinzendorf Schools. Additionally, theatre shows a fantastic possibility to develop personality and therefore theatre pedagogical work holds a special role at the Zinzendorf Schools.
Theatre at the Zinzendorf schools
There are several theatre groups for the lower school, middle school and senior levels, but it is also firmly established in the curriculum at different points. The rhetoric class often leads to presentations, and English class awakens interest in the youngest with foreign language sketches. In the senior classes of the high school, literature and theatre are optional classes to choose.
The optional class theatre pedagogics is also offered as an optional class for future educators. Here the focus is on theatre pedagogical concepts next to the theatre technical basic principles. Games and exercises, theatre forms, improvisation and stage production techniques are taught in practice because especially in the youth and institution educator education the demand for theatre pedagogical competencies is constantly growing.
